The new FLY expresses a new concept of functionality, where an intelligent use of volume offers usable space equivalent to a mini GT.

The elegant, Italian style of the scooter is immediately recognisable in the finish quality of the painted surfaces, and in the sophisticated chrome details.
Compact dimensions combine with modern, individual looks conveying an impression of solidity, agility and comfort.

The entire design exudes painstaking attention to detail; from the build quality to the chromed elements complementing the finish of the vehicle, such as the glove compartment and fuel filler flap release latches.
The sleek, elegantly sculpted surfaces extend into the flanks, with their slender, practical scuff guards, and conclude in a tapered tail that accentuates the lines of the vehicle as a whole. The wheels feature 5 split, curved spokes in the same silver finish as the front fork and transmission housing.

The rear of the vehicle features a luggage rack finished in metallic silver and a single taillight unit incorporating the turn indicators, running light and brake light, which gives the new FLY a sleek look and an unmistakable Piaggio identity

New Piaggio FLY offers improved interior space thanks to a design that facilitates access by riders of different sizes. The seat has a 'height of only 760 mm which improves rider comfort and control while manoeuvring the vehicle while stationary.

The storage spaces have been exploited to their fullest potential:
In addition to the under seat storage for 2 jet helmets with visors, the leg shield compartment can store everyday items (wallets and mobile phone).
A convenient bag hook is extracted from the seat and the platform with a sophisticated anti-slip design, can carry bulkier objects between the riders feet. The luggage rack, which doubles as a handle for the passenger, offers the possibility to fit the dedicated Fly top box.

The fuel tank is located under the footrest platform; an extremely functional solution which increases the load capacity of the under-saddle helmet compartment without sacrificing fuel capacity.

Access to the fuel cap is via a flap at the bottom of the leg shield back plate, which opens with a handle to reveal a lockable fuel cap.

The fold-out rear passenger foot pegs are finished in black and improve the comfort and usability of the vehicle.

The scooter has two stands:
-a centre stand for greater stability when parked and to facilitate maintenance.

The instrument panel is surrounded by a chrome bezel and has a graphite grey background. The clear and immediately legible instrumentation includes an analogue fuel gauge and speedometer, an odometer and a digital clock. The instrument panel also includes the regular indicator lamps.

The introduction of fuel injection has brought numerous benefits, among which reduced consumption and emissions, and easier starting in all weather conditions. The 3-valve layout was found to be the most effective solution to achieve the optimum balance between performance and fuel-economy. Three valves let the engine breathe more freely, increasing engine efficiency compared with a conventional 2-valve engine, while also improving smoothness, reducing fuel consumption and reducing harmful emissions. The development process of the new 3-valve engines focused particular emphasis on reducing friction and on the advantages this brings.
